Toronto locksmith services

Emergency lockout — house, condo, car, office

We answer overnight, on weekends and on holidays. Condo and apartment lockouts, front doors, back doors, mailbox and storage locker, cars and vans. Non-destructive entry is the default: we pick or bypass the lock, and drill only when the cylinder gives us no other option — and we tell you first.

Lock rekey

New house, new tenant, a lost key, a contractor who never returned the spare. Rekeying keeps your hardware and retires every old key. Around ten minutes per cylinder and far cheaper than replacement.

Lock replacement and high-security upgrades

Deadbolts, mortise cylinders, multipoint locks on newer front doors, keypad and smart locks, and high-security restricted keyways from Medeco and Mul-T-Lock where key control matters — useful for rental properties and offices where copies get made.

Car keys and key fobs

Transponder keys, remote-head keys, laser-cut keys and push-to-start smart fobs, cut and programmed at your vehicle. All-keys-lost included. A mobile locksmith is usually 30–60% cheaper than the dealership and saves the tow on top.

Commercial locksmith

Storefronts, offices, restaurants, warehouses: panic bars and exit devices, commercial door closers, aluminum storefront cylinders, master key systems, restricted keyways, buzzer entry and access control. Emergency board-up and lock repair after a break-in.

Door repair

We repair the door and the frame, not just the lock. Sagging doors, damaged frames after a forced entry, strike plates, hinges, closers and full door replacement for homes and businesses.

How to avoid the Toronto locksmith scam

Toronto has a long-running problem with fake locksmith listings: a $19 or $29 service call advertised online, an unmarked car, an unlicensed technician who drills a lock that did not need drilling, and a bill of several hundred dollars at the door. Protect yourself:

  • Ask for the legal business name and address before you agree to anything. Ours is Xpress Locksmith & Doors, 457 Albert St #6, Waterloo, ON.
  • Get the full price on the phone, including the service call fee and the after-hours surcharge.
  • Expect a marked vehicle and photo ID on arrival.
  • Question immediate drilling. A standard residential lock almost never needs to be drilled.
  • Get an itemized invoice with the company name on it.

A Toronto locksmith who quotes before the work

No $19 phone price and a $300 invoice at the door. Marked vehicle, photo ID, itemized invoice — and non-destructive entry first.

Frequently asked questions

How fast can you get to me in Toronto?

Depending on the neighbourhood and traffic, typically 30–60 minutes. We give you a real ETA on the phone, not a number designed to win the call.

Do you work overnight?

Yes, 24/7 including holidays. After-hours service calls cost more and we tell you before dispatching.

Can you open a condo door without damaging it?

In most cases yes. Many condo doors use standard cylinders that can be picked or bypassed. Building management may also require proof you live there — have ID ready.

Do I need to prove the property is mine?

Yes. Any legitimate locksmith will ask for ID and some proof of residency or ownership before opening a door or making a key. If a locksmith does not ask, that is a warning sign.

Can you make a car key with no original?

Yes. All-keys-lost is routine for us — we originate and program a new key at the vehicle. Bring ownership and photo ID.

Do you do commercial work after hours?

Yes, and we prioritize break-ins and businesses that cannot secure their premises. Panic bars, closers and storefront cylinders are on the van.
